For my sister, whom I love and adore, this one is for you!
Today I wanna talk about my pick for the best sisters in YA fiction.
So, what makes a sister the best?
Is it the fact that she’ll be there for you at all times? Or because she hugs you when you cry and you can tell her all your secrets and she’ll keep them safe? Is it because she will protect you from anyone who tries to hurt you? Or because she understands you in a way no one ever will?
But, maybe, most importantly, it’s because you know her love will be constant and unconditional no matter what.
This pick is personal as these sisters come from the only book my sister felt like reading for the fun of it and specifically based on the fact that if we were in the same position she’d volunteer for me too.
These sisters encompass a bond so special that one would literally go to battle for the other. The way they care for and love each other leaps off the page. They keep each other safe and sometimes they keep the other sane. Their love is so deep that when one feels like giving up just the thought of the other keeps them going and keeps them grounded. And if one ever lost the other you know it would shatter their heart in to a million tiny pieces.
My best sisters pick in YA fiction goes to Katniss and Prim Everdeen from the Hunger Games series, for all the reasons listed above.
Their love for the other is so strong and endearing that it makes me wanna hug my sister, but since she’s in another country, I’ll write a post for her instead!
